HIS RAINBOW’S HOPE

A rainbow pierces our dark night–
Brings hope to hearts beneath the storm
With promise of unending light:
A foretaste of new life reborn.

Behind that rainbow is the hand
Of Him whose Son came down to save
All us who are of Adam’s band
And seek the One our sins forgave.

Away from self we long to turn
And gaze on Him who is the Way—
With Him to Father we’ll return
As Holy Spirit has His say.

INCENSE TAKES OUR PRAYERS

Our incense wafts above from thurible
To take our prayers to Son at Father’s hand,
For Satan’s stink on earth is terrible
As evil spirits move throughout our land.
Please hasten, Lord, to help in our distress,
Breathe Father’s Spirit in our troubled souls,
Forgive our sins and then through us address
Our earth that it with heaven made one whole.
Then our prayers will with angels’ praise unite,
Proclaim your Triune glory over all,
As your truth is for all of us your light,
And mercy triumphs over Adam’s fall.
Our prayers are seen to be of great avail—
No longer will we hear our Rachels wail.

HE BRINGS US JESUS’ LOVE

He rides upon the clouds above
     And dips to earth below;
From Father brings us Jesus’ love
     With new life we can know.

The Holy Spirit is His name—
     Will always bring us truth.
Our way and life with Jesus came–
In hearts the final proof.

For those who follow in His way
     No other can there be;
His life o’er death in us holds sway,
     As hearts His truth can see.

And one day we’ll be taken home;
     On Spirit’s wings we’ll fly
As Father through His Son says, “Come”–
     Through death we’ll no more die.

FROM CARMEL’S MOUNT

From Carmel’s Mount, Elijah calls,
And those with Mary’s heart will hear
God’s Word, with heaven’s mercy falls
In still, small voice—removes all fear.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel knows
The wisdom from above received
On wind through Son from Father blows,
And she is first in Son believes.

We can with her to Mount ascend
When we surrender all we are—
Receive with her what’s always been.
It’s near and never has been far.

NOT CAST AWAY

From our sin we awake and see the dew
From heaven’s fountain splashed upon the earth—
Bathes world in dawn, and not for just a few,
But on all who consent to His new birth.

All tongues are born again to praise His name,
Who in creation said that all is good–
Now comes among us he who sought our fame,
And with Him we will die upon His Rood.

Yet, from His side on Cross a fountain pours
To bathe the earth in His forgiving love
From heaven by His Spirit o’er earth soars
To join His earth with Father’s love above.

Awake at last are we, not cast away,
As Father, Son, and Spirit have their way.

BENEATH HIS STONE

Beneath His stone our sins are crushed
And blown away by Spirit’s wind;
His rolling stone grinds them to dust—
Become as what has never been.

On other side of grave we rise
As we new life with Him partake;
With joy we are by Him surprised
For He has opened Eden’s gate.

His Father beckons, and we come
To Eden New that’s from Old born,
And we ourselves at last become
A jew’l in crown His Son adorns.

CAPTURED BY LOVE

We listen to the fiddle play,
     Strummed by the Devil’s hand,
And with us he then has his way;
     We’re welcomed in his band.

But we find that the more we hear
     The more we are sucked in,
And our hearts then begin to fear;
     We long for what had been.

O for the time of innocence
     When we were with the Lord,
And His protection round us fenced
     Our freedom in His Word.

Just then the love that we once knew
     Descends from up above,
And we rejoice with life anew
     From His self-giving love.

The Devil now is downward cast—
     No longer in our face.
We’re captured by a love that lasts
     And live within His grace.

A RAINBOW IN OUR STORM

Is there a rainbow in this storm
     To give us now a hope
That life anew can be reborn?
     Is that beyond God’s scope?

For waves of death around us rise,
     And we seek higher ground.
Will this storm be our life’s demise,
     No trace of us be found?

But then we see approach a boat,
     And from it net is cast;
We’re caught, and it keeps us afloat,
     Tied firmly to boat’s mast.

We see the mast is Jesus’ Cross
     With rainbow streaming forth.
At last we see we are not lost;
     In Him we plight our troth.

Our greatest gift is faith in Him
     Who’ll wash our sins away;
Our hearts become His Bethlehem
     As light shines in our day.

And with that dawn a rainbow breaks
     Through storm’s horrendous pow’r;
His Word of peace makes Satan quake
This His Holy Hour.

For storms on earth by Satan caused
     Are stilled forever more,
And our lives now will not be lost.
     We’re safe on heaven’s shore.

MAGDALENE, PETER, AND JOHN

The morning dew lay lightly on His tomb
That’s open now and stone is rolled away,
As sunlight penetrates the night-time gloom,
And His life over death has had His way.

Comes Mary Magdalene to see her Lord,
Whose body she believed was in His grave.
Instead, she finds the One whom she adored
Alive again—from sin and death He saves.

She runs to tell His men whom she has seen,
And John and Peter race from her to see
The tomb where body of the Lord had been,
And Peter knows not what was meant to be.

But John steps in and sees with Mother’s eyes—
Believes with her that He was meant to rise;
And with Him we are raised above our fall
With life anew for all who on Him call.

YOUR LIGHT YOKE

Your glory’s weight is our light yoke
     As shoulder You our load,
For weight of truth You to us spoke
     When You stepped on our road.

We find Your truth is hard to bear
     If we go it alone.
In pride we’re trapped in Satan’s snare–
     For our sin You atone.

In Cross we find Your glory’s weight
     That pierces deep our hearts–
Removes the sin and radiates
     Your love through inward parts.

Your glory’s yoke for us is light
     Compared to Adam’s sin;
Its weight lifts us to heaven’s height
     As we are born again.

And when that final day will come,
     With Jesus we will soar
With weight that’s light and sin undone;
     We cannot ask for more.
