Heaven’s Road

In every heart is heaven’s road
     Where He walks with each one,
And with each one He bears the load
     To see our sin undone.

The road we’re on winds up a hill
     Where Cross with Him is raised,
And there our sin is with Him killed:
     His death in us each saves.

Our road with Him leads to a tomb
     Where our sin’s left behind
And with it all our earthly gloom;
     Then we’re fed bread and wine–

But they are not what they appear—
     Are Body and His Blood.
He enters us as He draws near;
     New life within us floods.

In Families We’re Set Free

All those before are part of us,
     And we are part of them;
Our families will survive grave’s dust—
     Each one unique in Him.

For when we’re raised beyond the grave
     In family meant to be,
For in a family each is saved—
     Each other truly see.

Discover who each really is—
     Unique yet knit as one—
Together each is only His,
     United in God’s Son.

For Luke and Matthew teach us all
     In genealogies
That God’s Son to Him families call—
     In families we’re set free.

Lessons In Our Personal Past

His lessons lie in personal past
When He gives us His light to see
His truth there will forever last;
We see who we are meant to be.

His plan there for us all along
Is always known within His heart,
For to Him each of us belongs
From mother’s womb when our life starts.

And with that start His promise comes
That He is always there for us,
As we in Him ourselves become
And learn to always in Him trust.

He asks each one to others tell
Of providence directs our lives;
No matter how we from Him fell,
He’s ready to our sins forgive.

For sinful past in us can die
With Him who’s raised on Calvary’s Hill,
And sin with Him will in grave lie.
We rise and with Him each one’s filled.

Plow My Soul

Come plow my soul with wooden Cross,
Uproot the brambles of my sin,
As my old self I’ve finally lost
And good crop can be sown again.

Then plant in me your own true vine
That I may grow a branch from you,
Then irrigate with Blood, ’twas wine,
And feed me with your Body, too.

May each day I behold your face
Unique in everyone I meet;
We’re all with Mary full of grace
As we bow at your mercy seat.

Hiding From God

Lord, You will never hide Your face,
And all we are and do You see,
For You created human race
To be what You want each to be.

But we have sinned and tried to hide
Behind a fig leaf from Your sight,
For we cannot Your gaze abide;
It fills us with a horrid fright;

Yet gentle You will come to us
As Babe with Mary You abide
To say that You still will us trust
To see Your truth, come to Your side;

And so we come to die with You
As bathed in water, blood You pour,
And covered with Your morning dew
On Spirit’s wings we with You soar;

And now we see Your face again
And revel in the light You give
To all who’re now made free from sin
And with Your Father, Mother live.

The Fruit of Life

In all the darkness of our night I grasp
For fruit that brings not death to us but life,
Dispells the darkness brought in us by asp
Who fled from up above His heaven’s light–
A light that shows the gate to Paradise
Unlocked by key that is His Cross of wood,
Where virtue of God’s Son defeated vice
And cleanses us from sin like Noah’s flood.
From side of Him who died is heaven’s flow
Of water, blood for us to cleanse and feed
So we again His freedom’s truth can know,
And He through us can do His mighty deeds.
We eat His fruit in light from heaven poured
From Him whose Spirit ’round the earth now soars.

Your Holy Gate

Your gate, O Lord, a holy gate,
     And through it we must pass—
Forever leave our sinful state
     If Your truth we’re to grasp.

For falsehood we must leave behind
     And with it all our sin
If we’re to join Your humankind
     And be all Yours again.

For with You there is no half-way—
     It’s all or nothing now.
If we’re to see your light of day,
     Our whole hearts we must bow.

For holy are the ones you love,
     Washed clean in your shed Blood;
With holy hearts join You above—
     Are cleansed by saving flood.

We join all those above with You.
     We’re here but not by chance,
For You in us clean hearts now view—
     All join in heaven’s dance.

Christ In Me

The Devil strikes at You in me
     Where You create, redeem.
He hates the virtue he can see,
     For You have made me clean.

He tries to earthly glory seek
     By making me his own;
But earthly glory foul will reek—
     Is weed that won’t be grown.

For in me You have sown Your crop
     That weeds will not choke out,
As Spirit’s rain will on me drop
     To cleanse me of my doubt.

Your truth will always shine through me,
     A mirror now made clean,
So You through me they all can see
     That I have been redeemed.

Blood on My Doorpost

His Blood is on the doorpost of my heart—
A sign that Satan must pass over me
For I am claimed as His and He imparts
His love as I forever bend my knee.
There I am washed by Son, the Father’s Lamb,
A sacrifice who cleanses me from sin:
Our Father’s gift through Him, the great I Am,
And with His Blood I am now born again.
I sing His praise with angels are on high—
With heaven’s chorus my poor words unite—
In exultation join their joyful cry
As we are bathed in His eternal light.
His Blood by Spirit makes me clean inside,
And Triune Love within me now abides.

A Whispering Sound

The strongest voice a whispering sound
That overcomes the Devil’s noise—
A sign that by the Lord we’re found,
No longer are we Devil’s toys.

For Devil tries within to play
What is for him a children’s game,
And when he wins we think his way
As we forget our Father’s name.

But through it all with inner ear
Those whispered words still touch our hearts,
And we learn to the Devil fear,
No longer play the game he starts.

Instead, we learn the game of life
That here begins and never ends.
As whispered sounds bring heaven’s light,
Our Lord begins our lives to mend.

Then Jesus touches ears within,
And His voice gives us inner strength,
As Spirit cleanses us of sin,
And we learn to with Jesus think.

Through all, the Father us prepares
To live with him forever more;
As we are saved from Satan’s snare
His voice calls us to heaven’s shore.
