In every heart is heaven’s road
Where He walks with each one,
And with each one He bears the load
To see our sin undone.
The road we’re on winds up a hill
Where Cross with Him is raised,
And there our sin is with Him killed:
His death in us each saves.
Our road with Him leads to a tomb
Where our sin’s left behind
And with it all our earthly gloom;
Then we’re fed bread and wine–
But they are not what they appear—
Are Body and His Blood.
He enters us as He draws near;
New life within us floods.
