Truth and Light

The storms will always rock St. Peter’s bark
     But won’t prevail their dark
     For Jesus is on board,
And He o’er all our storms is always Lord–
Forever stills the darkest storms within
And frees us from the fear of death and sin.

His voice will speak to storms within to heal
     And crushes with His heel
     The head of Devil’s asp
To free the hearts by serpents coils were grasped—
Infuse in us the truth of rainbow light
That storms are ended—so is our dark night.

God’s Designs

How deep within God’s heart are His designs
Etched in the contours of each human soul,
Revealed through Son who is His living Vine
To branches grown to make our Eden whole.

The proud will show themselves to be the fools
Who cannot understand His depth of love
When water for His branches comes from pool
Of His humility poured from above.

Our Father’s heart, His Son, here takes us in,
And we participate in life through death
So we can fall and rise again—begin
Each day anew on Holy Spirit’s breath.

Discovering now who we are meant to be,
His glory through us others will then see.

The Gate of Holiness

Before the gate of holiness I see
A welcome sign, a call to enter in–
All burdened by our effort not to be
As He created us—thus we have sinned.

For each a purpose giv’n from God alone—
His reason He wills each of us to be—
And Father’s Son for us our sin atones
That who we truly are, we then can see.

The gate of holiness is in each one–
Is opened by the Blood on door post marked
And enters every heart; God’s only Son
Makes each unique–takes us on Peter’s Bark.

His holiness in every heart will reign,
And in Him we’re washed clean of sinful stain.

Heaven On Our Mind

From this old sordid world we cast a glance
Above to sky, brings heaven to our mind–
See clouds before the sunset in their dance
To celebrate the day now left behind.

The sun has disappeared and comes the night
To bring His peace that blows from Calvary’s hill
Where buries He our sins from Father’s sight
And speaks to us His words of “Peace, be still !”

Beyond our understanding is His peace,
Descends within our souls our hearts to cleanse,
And we from sin and guilt find His release
As He our broken hearts in His now mends.

His heaven comes to earth us to prepare
For dawn’s new life in Him beyond compare.

His Monstrance

You beckon us to enter through Your gate
That’s open when Your Body is exposed
In Monstrance where we can participate
In You, for Incarnation brings You low.

You taste with us the death all mortals know
And bury it with You inside Your tomb,
Then when You rise in each of us you sow
A new creation in Your garden blooms.

And everyone in bloom who’s perfect self
In Monstrance is then visible in You–
Each grafted in Your heart with all Your health
Displayed in Church for all the world to view.

Outside ourselves in You we’ve longed to be:
At last we know in You is where we’re free.

Adoration

I look upon His broken Body there
Who beckons me to come and be His guest,
To join Him on His Cross with Mother here
And with her hands in swaddling clothes be dressed.

The more I look, the more within I’m drawn
As all my sin is taken into death,
And I know for this death I’ve always longed
With heart that yearns for Holy Spirit’s breath.

As I’m drawn in–out of myself I come–
The world around with new life radiates,
And I know He in me new life becomes
Unique, as He my new heart satiates.

His Monstrance with His Body is a door
To life anew for all with spirits poor.

His Morning Star

His Morning Star has risen in our hearts,
And soon the dawn in eastern sky will break
As all the world is given His new start
With all who live in Christ again awake
To greet an Eden risen, made anew,
By heaven has descended in the Son
Whose herald is a rainbow, lights the dew–
Proclaims He has o’er night His vic’try won.
And we now taste the first fruits of His reign
Who will forever rule in heaven, earth–
Has for His Father all of us reclaimed
And sent our sin with Satan into death.
As Morning Star by Spirit takes us in,
We sing His praise as our new life begins.

God’s Perfect Pair

Please, Holy Family, intercede
     For us alive below:
For husbands, wives our Savior bleeds
     In Sacrament they know.

What God has joined we dare not part
     At peril of our souls;
In Sacrament, our Lord imparts
     Himself to make us whole.

For families will together be
     In heaven perfect made,
Where our true selves we will all see
     And marriage never fades,

For husband, wife are joined as one–
     No man can sunder here.
By Him their one life has been won;
     They’ll be God’s perfect pair.

Our Thirst for Heaven

We are consumed with heaven’s thirst,
     For drink comes here below:
You water us with Blood dripped first
From Cross where Your Blood flowed.

When You were lifted o’er the earth,
     Storm clouds began to form,
Then rain to water eastern turf
     Washed Blood to earth reborn.

Your Blood appears on altar raised
     With new life lifted high;
A life beyond Your human grave
In Blood to us draws nigh.

Our heaven’s thirst is by it quenched,
     With Body is consumed,
And we and all the earth are drenched–
     No longer to death doomed.

His Holy Cure

The foulness in our world is poisoned wine—
Inebriates, then leaves us sick of life—
And all the while our Father comes to find
His fallen children, rescue them from strife.

Our cure is Father’s Son, His holy gift,
Who gives us wine that is His Blood so sweet,
As His own Body on the Cross we lift
That raised on high He will on earth us meet.

On altar He for all of us appears
In bread and wine–becomes His Body, Blood,
And with His truth our foulness disappears
Before reality, His fleshly food.

Our foulness is our poisoned Devil’s dream,
But Father’s truth defeats his earthly scheme.
