Our Exile Journey

We’re always moving in our exile here
Toward Him who is the way, the truth, the life–
A pilgrimage will some day bring us there
Where we in darkness see dawn’s breaking light.

The deserts, mountains, valleys we must cross
On trail we follow one step at a time,
With burden shared by Him who seeks the lost
And in each river washes off our grime.

A wind that’s from the future blows on us
As purer we become when we inhale,
And we learn to in Holy Sprit trust
Who’ll lead us on this path beyond death’s veil.

The more we walk, the lighter we become
As we draw closer to our Father’s home.

Providence

A minute here, a minute there,
Lord, You give all our time,
For all is Yours while we are here–
     All woven in Your rhyme.

This world is heaven’s ante-room,
A place where we are trained,
And we are not with Satan doomed
     To suffer endless pain.

As time unfolds Your providence,
     We see in retrospect;
Our lives are not by earthly chance,
     But You in time perfect.

Through suffering, danger we proceed,
     Your Son our burdens bears,
And we know joy as Blood He bleeds
     To wash away our cares.

Then when we finish this world’s race,
     We into heaven step,
And we see presence of Your grace
     In us–Your purpose kept.

ON THE OCCASION OF OUR
62ND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

The Wisdom of the Lord

You wisdom give to know the harmony
Of earth that’s joined to heaven in Your love
Through family—mother, father, baby—three,
A likeness of Your Trinity above.

And when we fall, You in a family come
In Son with Mary, Joseph, show us care
So we know what we are now to become
As we begin to breathe Your heaven’s air.

Your Son by His free will consents to die—
Redeems each one in families are to live—
Takes into death our fall for Satan’s lie,
And His new life to each of us He gives.

We now can see that each is meant to be
In family, likeness of Your Trinity.

The Glory of the Lord

Stand still and see the glory of the Lord
Shown in His love in every baby born;
In every one we see His image poured
As His creation with Himself adorns.

Each baby joins His human trinity—
With mother, father likeness of Himself—
Where at creation’s center we can see
The hinge on which hangs all creation’s health.

For in First Adam all creation fell—
With family at the center of it all—
And in our sin came with it our death knell,
So all are born must lie beneath its pall.

But every baby born will live once more
With God’s own Son, was born and raised from dead
To show us what our Father has in store
At rainbow’s end where all of us are led.

 Families Three

The veil o’er understanding lifts
     And we see Nazareth,
A place where family life is gift
     Of which we’ve been bereft.

For we have never understood
     The truth of family three;
Now inner wisdom in us floods,
     And we see Trinity.

For family here is likeness of
     Our God who reigns above—
An ever-lasting treasure trove
     Containing Triune Love.

We in this Naz’reth family see
     The destiny of all
As gift of Three, who make us free,
     When families on them call.

DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE LEGAL
PROTECTION OF UNBORN CHILDREN

Dazed With Hope

Our high-walled fortress you have razed–
The walls built by our Adam’s sin—
And we awake from past so dazed
With hope we can begin again.

As we continue to awake
To life You give without those walls,
We drink Your Blood, our thirst will slake,
And Body eat as You each call.

Your new life comes, when walls are down,
From altar in the Catholic Church:
In water You our sins have drowned–
Arise from font, are by You touched.

We sing and feast along the road
With those who with us journey home,
And with us You will bear our load
As in You we ourselves become.

New Life

The breath of God His Image makes from dust—
In His hands guided by His heart of love—
And plants in each a heart that’s meant to trust
His Spirit’s guidance from His throne above.

But trust means we have freedom to decide:
Do we obey this One outside ourselves
Or follow her was made from Adam’s side,
Descend with her on path that leads to hell?

But Father gives us Virgin who is pure—
Whom we can follow with our mother Eve.
The Mother of our Lord provides the cure
For those who with her in her Son believe.

May Mary’s choice become our very own
And new life sprout from dust from which she’s grown.

The Gate Unlocked

We look ahead and can’t believe our eyes:
A gate we see we thought we left behind
And see a key looms high upon a rise
That unlocks gate and there a tree we find.
It grows from tomb with portal opened wide
Inside the gate where breeze of dawn so sweet
Invites us with our broken hearts inside
Where One who’s past death’s door will each one greet.
He came among us born of Virgin Maid
To bring us key to open only way
To Garden where we wished that we had stayed–
Lament the fact that we in our sin strayed.
We’re welcomed home to place we’ve never been
But know we’re home as we are saved from sin.

Home Again in Eden

Our land was made by us a wilderness,
A place where living water will not run,
Because of Adam’s, Eve’s first faithlessness
When human race in them was just begun
In Eden, where the Tree of Life still grows–
Forever bears the fruit for which we long,
While He who walks His Garden longs to know
We are at last where we at first belonged,
Behind the gate His Son will open now
Through whom the Father’s water breathes again:
His Spirit wets His image, and we bow
To Him who on His Tree frees us from sin.
So Trinity will never walk alone
In Garden–was and always will be  home.

Sunset and Sunrise

Your sunrise and Your sunset both we know
And wonder which forever will prevail;
We long for truth that we hope You will show
To guide us in the storms through which we sail.

And then we see a light that does unite
Both sunrise and Your sunset seen as one,
As sunset’s death in each of us invites
Your sunrise of new life in each begun.

Uniting all, we see Your Noah’s bow
Above our stormy seas across the sky–
Know You will conquer in us every foe
As cross and empty tomb in us draw nigh.

In sunset, hope of sunrise always lives
As we repent and You our sins forgive.
