The sky surrounds the earth above–
Your mercy wraps us ‘round:
Is justice wrapped in heaven’s love
That in Your heart for us abounds.

In mercy we Your glory see,
Makes worthless gods our hands have made,
For with You they can never be;
In glory they away will fade.

And when they’re gone Your truth shines forth—
In wisdom wrapped we see the whole—
A vision like a second birth
That cleanses both our body, soul.

And now we see within the sky
A Cross where wisdom is revealed:
We know that when we all will die
Our tomb by You has been unsealed. 

We’re banished to a no-man’s land
Where we were not supposed to be
And yet You take us by the hand,
Transform our sin so we can see
What You have done to set us free.

Through us You propagate our race
To tame our fallen wilderness,
Provide for us a living space
Where we can learn Your faithfulness
To all creation–through us bless.

When time is full You to us come
In Person of Begotten Son
Through Mary, one of us become,
And over death Your victory won
For Satan’s lies have been undone. 

Now we will live eternally
With Son, who human nature raised,
In dawn changed for us gradually
To light of His eternal day,
As we to Him give all our praise. 

I climb the mountain of our time
With portents of my death I bare
And do not notice time’s own signs
That death will be my final snare.

The meaning of my life I seek
With every step is death more real
May I here have at least one peak
At purpose will my meaning seal?

I hear the words, “God will provide”
Come from a Cross raised on a hill
From Lamb who has come to my side
And promises to my sin kill.

Caught in a thorn bush that’s a Cross.
For me a sacrifice brings life
And willingly I count as loss
My darkness, dissipates in light

For now I see a grave beyond
That hill whose summit I have reached:
It’s empty and my sin’s undone
As Him on other side I meet.

Casts meaning on my former steps
As heaven through His Cross I glimpse
And now His purpose for me met
In Blood my sin will from me rinse.

His vision of the whole His gift
To me and all who with Him die
And rise with Him to life He lifts
Where love and joy and peace abide. 

In everything we say and do
We Jesus praise who guides our way;
In spite of all that is askew
We praise the Lord through all our days.

Amid the toils and trials of life
Our voices all His praise we sing,
His words through us bring endless light–
Dispels the darkness round us rings.

And when our days on earth are done,
We’ll join the angels in their praise
Of Him who for us vict’ry won:
In life anew we’re with Him raised. 

I look at world and only see
     The darkness that is there
And wonder if we can be free
     To hope Your light is near.

And then I see by light that comes–
     This darkness is in me–
That world was meant to be our home:
     We’re meant to live sin free.

I see I’m always in Your sight
     In light from You that shines,
And truth from You is heaven’s might:
     You enter heart and mind.

Your truth in me dispels my night,
     And my eyes see so clear
That You have for us won the fight;
     Your love casts out our fear. 

May bitter root not spring to life in me
But die forever death on Your Cross killed
As grows in me Your fruit that sets me free
To live Your life in me by Spirit filled.

May I a new creation here become
That others see in me Your glory’s hue,
As I will not to Satan’s lure succumb
But each day trust in You to be renewed.

You are in me the life, the truth, the way,
Whatever stage of life I’m in on earth,
And I must learn to let You have Your say
As You Yourself in me each day are birthed.

Please live in me according to Your will
With my old life in me forever stilled. 

May I be like a laden olive tree
With fruit that will become a healing oil
When used by You to make us all sin free,
As You will Satan’s plans for all us foil.

May words I speak and things I do be Yours
That come from heart and mind to You attuned
So I may testify that Your oil cures
And lifts from all of us our Eden gloom.

May peace that passes understanding here
On Holy Spirit’s breeze waft through our souls
And bring to us the hope of heaven’s cheer
To make us ever more for Your truth bold.

May healing oil from You forever fill
Our hearts and minds and souls to heal our ills. 

The smell of Eden New from up ahead
Gives courage in our exile here on earth
As guided by Him living is not dead;
We journey on with hope in heaven’s birth.

We pass through water as our journey starts,
Are cleansed from sin, on road ahead set foot;
We each one on this journey plays his part
As we grow up from our New Adam’s root.

Security in exile we won’t know,
But light from up ahead will draw us on;
As we look up we see His heaven’s bow
With near end found on altar with God’s Son.

Ahead in Eden New is other end
Of rainbow where our hearts have always been. 

O Lord, may I become Your ark
Where You by Spirit in me dwell,
And let Your light dispel the dark
That life may reign o’er death’s last knell.

May Spirit in me chrism bring,
Anoint my tongue to Your truth speak,
Fill mind and heart that I may sing
Of beauty, virtue, we all seek.

May conscience, ‘twas before condemned,
Be washed in oil–contains Your Blood–
That I may know I am redeemed,
Washed clean in Your Baptismal flood.

May truth become Your guiding light
From heaven sent to lead the way,
As we all journey from the night
To dawn of truth–brings Your new day. 

In time we see unfold Your truth that is,
Already present in eternity,
And know we are in time already His
As we become what we are meant to be.

Come quickly, Lord, and finish that begun
In time that You may have Your perfect way|
With us who are Your children in Your Son
Whose Word in us will have Your final say.

And now we see how hallowed is all time
When in eternity it newly lives,
As prose of time is taken into rhyme
Of heaven where to earth Your life You give.

May beauty of Your truth be in us there,
As it unfolds in us while we are here.
