Wisdom Smiles on Us

With Your eternal wisdom You’ll enrich
The hearts and minds of all who follow You
As You move through the world to our souls fetch
From sin and darkness of a world askew.

With wisdom from the Father You impart
Your vision of the whole that wisdom is
As with Your love that flows from Sacred Heart
Your light and life to all the world You give.

With wisdom’s light we see the world re-born,
Becomes what it was always meant to be
Where families are the center, aren’t forlorn,
As wisdom’s vision lightens all we see.

The human family—father, mother, child—
Your likeness here where wisdom on us smiles.

Your Love For Me

What is it You in Your love want of me
     Who longs to bend my knee,
     Be in Your perfect will,
Submit to death that You may my sin kill
And raise me in New Eden that appeared
On Calvary’s mount to take away my fear?

Bestow again Your hope from New Life Tree,
     Makes me forever free
     From Eve’s and Adam’s ills,
To empty and with Holy Spirit fill
That You may dry with Your grave clothes my tears
So sobs may cease and You alone I hear.

Christ Our Rock

Reality at last sets in
     As phantoms blow away;
Forgiveness comes for all our sin
     By Him who is the Way.

O, how we’ve tried to kid ourselves
     That we can our truth make;
And pride in us begins to swell,
     But all we make is fake.

Our house of cards comes tumbling down
     When sand foundation moves;
We cry for help lest we all drown
     As falsehood is removed.

Away is sand foundation swept
     And with it make believe;
Beneath it Christ the Rock has kept
     Our life with sin reprieved.

His Rock emerges pure and strong,
     His truth, reality;
The very thing for which we’ve longed:
     He’s our security.

And now on Rock He with us builds
     His Church will never fall;
With nail-scarred hands forever skilled,
     He wants to save us all.

Reality will always win;
     For us He always lives.
Beneath us all He’s always been;
     To us Himself He gives.

Thanksgiving Day

We celebrate with thankfulness
     Our nation’s special day,
As one, we all are greatly blessed
     Across the U.S.A.

We thank the Lord for those before
     Prepared the way for us,
For blessings opened wide the door,
     Left us a sacred trust.

We are a nation on a hill
     With light that shines for all,
For our Lord wants to nations fill
     With goodness when they call.

We come on this Thanksgiving Day
     To bring before our Lord
All nations for whom we now pray
     That all will Christ adore.

Peaceful River

O Lord, come make Your peaceful river flow
From cross through empty tomb to all of us
That through Your Body, Blood, we truth can know
When in Your resurrected life we place our trust.

With peace bring joy to irrigate our souls
To form our bodies that with You will rise,
And we’ll become a human person whole
As You claim us to be Your heaven’s prize.

May we see our life here through heaven’s lens
Alive within a world becoming new,
As with You we now live while You will mend
Creation where we can New Eden view.

Your peaceful river flows through Eden’s East,
As souls and bodies are from sin released.

King with Heaven’s Queen

Of Spirit and her water we are born—
His Mother from His Cross He gives to us—
And we with John consent to be adorned
With her blue mantle as through her we trust.

Form Mary’s child He many children gives
To Father and His Mother now assumed
Where in His human nature we all live
In her His Lily now in her full bloom—

A flower open through whom His grace flows
To water all the earth with faith from her,
As we in Holy Family come to know
The healing comes through her by her Son’s myrrh.

Blood from King’s side, who’s born from Heaven’s Queen,
Gives us His life that always should have been.

KING’S RAINBOW

A rainbow circles from uplifted hands
Around the earth to all of us embrace–
An end to storms that raged throughout the land;
God’s image is restored in human race.
A Noah’s promise made to all the earth
Gives to us Catholic Church as our New Ark,
And living waters wash in Spirit’s birth
All earth in light dispelling clouds of dark.
To Christ our King will earth and heaven bow,
And all confess that Jesus is the Lord
Of all sin’s storms which can afflict us now;
For even storms will Him as Lord adore.
Your rainbow round the earth, your kingly crown–
We’re free from all sin’s storms when to you bound.

Our Hearts’ Songs

Our words cannot express what our hearts sing,
For our hearts’ songs lead us to heaven’s door
Where in those vaults the angels’ voices ring,
And here below our songs will sound so poor.

Yet Jesus says, “The songs you sing we love
For they’re your gift we’ll always treasure here,
As Spirit lifts your songs to rise above,
And to our Father’s heart they bring great cheer.

“So sing in all you say and do and think,
For they are sacrifices true you lay
On altar here where we your true love drink,
And ‘well done, faithful servants,’ we will say.

“The angels’ accolades to you are giv’n,
For your songs rise to join their songs in heav’n.”

Our Past Forgotten

It can be hard for us to sin forget
When we’re convicted of our sinful past,
And we learn we must now ourselves forgive,
For Christ’s forgiveness of us always lasts.

We learn that he shapes our forgiven hearts
As in Him we forget what lies behind,
And we learn He will always give new start
When we are open to new truth we find.

We learn that each of us His glory bears,
In human life a glimpse of heaven now,
As every day we His directions hear,
And in our hearts to Him we learn to bow.

When Jesus comes in hearts, we heaven know,
And we see world in heaven’s morning glow.

A Thirsty Soul

O Lord, I am a thirsty soul
Who longs for You to slake my thirst
With living water makes me whole
In wineskin that will never burst.

May water turn to wine in me
As I partake from table laid,
Receiving You on bended knee–
At last of Satan not afraid.

Then to us You will now reveal
The union of Your heaven, earth,
And You will Eden’s gate unseal
As earth through You now knows rebirth.

We live within Your paradise
Of earth, now Yours with heaven, too,
As with You we from grave arise
In living water’s morning dew.
