Immaculate Mary

Our human nature glorified
     In Christ, Emmanuel:
In Mary’s womb Begotten hides
     With her who never fell.

Now Mary’s nature sanctified
     In union with her Son;
By Spirit’s breath her past is tied
     To Resurrected One.

Immaculate she is conceived
     In mother Anna’s womb;
In perfect heart she then receives
     God’s Son—will rise from tomb,

And when He disappears above,
He draws all to His side.
To His dear Mother gives His love;
     Her body there abides.

Some day we’ll all with Mary be;
We’ll stand by New Eve’s side,
For there through all eternity
     Our nature glorified.

Our Lady

O Lady, you were crowned with heaven’s stars
Transformed from crown of thorns that your Son wore
On earth, a garland made where once before
First Lady Eve had lived with Adam–marred
God’s whole creation and with Him was barred
From Tree of Life, and we were all made poor
By death in Eden’s East, yet know there’s more
Than this–so with our ancient foe we war.
Still earth is heaven’s anteroom, ordained
To be where life begins that never ends
For man–where sin is not allowed to reign.
You welcomed God’s dear Son; again begins
Our human life without the Devil’s stain.
He’s raised with you, O Lady, without sin.

ALIVE  AT LAST

Come, Mary, Mother of the Poor.
With Spirit, make our spirits soar,
Transform our flesh to glory be,
So fully human all can see
     At last we are alive.

In Eden’s glory bathe us now
When as the Church we to you bow,
As we who’re clothed in Adam’s flesh
Made new through Baby in a creche
     At last we are alive.

Prepare us for the Promised Land
Where you with Jesus take our hand
To lead us through an open gate
Where all in Christ will for us wait:
     At last we are alive.

We’ll hand-in-hand together go
With two of you our hearts now know,
As drenched are we in rains of joy
With you and Jesus, Beth’lem’s Boy—
     At last we are alive.

The Fruit of Parent’s Love

THE PRESENTATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
IN THE TEMPLE

A tiny girl, the fruit of parents’ love,
By them is now presented to the Lord
With thanks that Risen Life on Spirit’s Dove
Has made her full of grace, by Son adored
In years to come when He descends to earth
By her consent, received for all of us,
And gives Begotten Son a human birth
Through her who for us all His Father trusts—
Was then a little babe in Anna’s arms
Protected too by father Joachim’s care–
Presented to the Lord who’ll keep from harm
The one becomes a virgin maid so fair:
Anticipates the presentation made
By Joseph, Mary–light to Eden’s shade.

Earth Welcomes Heaven

May we on earth to heaven’s sky
With Mary welcome Him who comes
To save us all from Satan’s lie
With Truth that’s Serpent’s knot undone.

Untwisted now their love we know
From Holy Three through Mother’s Son
Who comes to sinful realm below,
And in our earth His victory’s won.

Outside, His water o’er us poured
While inside Spirit splashes wet
To cleanse away that sinful sore
And suture wound with His own net.

Our earth made fit to come aboard
His Ark will sail to Heaven high—
His Church whose captain is our Lord,
From Father sent to bring earth nigh.

Rejoice, O earth, within us saved
By Holy Three through Mary’s “yes.”
Through grave our earth is with Him raised:
Our earth forever heaven’s guest.

Adoring Christ

I look upon His broken Body there,
Who beckons me to come and be His guest,
To join Him on His Cross with Mother fair
And with her hands in swaddling grave clothes dressed.

The more I look the more within I’m drawn,
And all my sin is taken into death
For I know for this death with Him I’ve longed
With heart that yearns for birth by Spirit’s breath.

As I’m drawn in, out of myself I come,
And world around with new life radiates,
For Jesus in me new life does become
Unique as He my new heart satiates.

His monstrance with His Body is a door
As I in Mary’s arms her Son adore.

His Word

His Blood drips through the Word He speaks
Around the altar table laid
On each who will His Word repeat
As from the East atonement made.

His Mother’s blood through Him will come
To us who drink the cup of life,
And bread for us His flesh becomes
Through her who brings us Heaven’s Light.

Ahead through ever-circling years
In time the One who is beyond
By Spirit speaks to newly-opened ears
His Word–brings sacrifice once done.

The One whose name is Dayspring brings
His Father’s love through Mother’s “yes;”
Her body, blood from heaven sing
His welcome to His table guests.

Mary’s Nature

In vessel of her body, God decants
His Son by Spirit poured within her heart–
Unites with Him her human nature sent
Before to give creation His new start.

Born out of Providence to Anna came
A daughter from conception full of grace
To give herself to Him–for us became
With Adam one of us in fallen race.

Yet, nature she gave Him without sin’s fault
Preveniently preserved by Father’s hand,
So Son of His and she with us not caught
In Adam’s web that covers eastern lands.

In Mary’s birth among us, God conceives
A vessel freely His Son will receive.

The Spirit’s Music

I feel the Spirit’s touch on my heart strings
As He blows through the Virgin’s heart to mine,
And through her, risen heart of Jesus brings
His song that He may play in my own time.

With my consent He plays His song in me
And through me with His words His wisdom weaves
To paint a picture on His tapestry:
A vision of the whole we can receive.

From dawn to dusk and through the night He plays
With richness of His multi-colored love,
As He in His creation with us stays
To ever more reveal His treasure trove.

His Spirit with His music glory paints
In every heart with love that’s never faint.
