LIKE DAWN IN EARLY SPRING

We’ll be like dawn in early spring
     When birds are singing sweet,
And everyone their gifts will bring
    To lay at Jesus’ feet.

No gift is greater than the rest,
     For each gift is unique;
And all together are the best,
     Each one with no repeat.

No act of ours has brought this dawn;
     New Eden now we view.
We find for what we’ve always longed:
     A home that’s old but new.

See here and there familiar sights
     Transformed to should have been,
For all was wrong is now made right:
     There’s no more death and sin.

THE HOLY SPIRIT SHAPES OUR HEARTS

You shape the hearts of everyone
To make them just His size,
And then you enter with God’s Son,
Who makes each of us wise.

The Son will speak to each His Word
     In Father’s voice with love;
Inspired by You we call Him Lord,
Brought to us from above.

And we can see in every heart
     How He’s in each unique,
For each of us He’s set apart
     By Word with no repeat.

Each one knows joy in other’s gifts
     As hand-in-hand we go;
To heaven each one He will lift
     Because He loves us so.

MERCY AND JUSTICE

Her womb an open gate to Paradise
From Eden’s East where sin and death had reigned,
And when we enter we at last can feast
With hearts are cleansed from Eden’s sinful stain.
Behind that gate His justice, mercy meet
When we repent our sins, accept His love,
And bathe in His forgiveness when we greet
His mercy brought from Heaven by His Dove.
Our Father’s justice served by saving death
On Cross by Son–who took our sin on Him,
Is raised in mercy on His Spirit’s breath–
Came forth from Mary’s womb in Bethlehem.
He beckons us with Lazarus’ voice, “Come forth”
From tomb: we come from Mary’s womb new-birthed.

WATER, WIND, AND FIRE

The water poured on us is Spirit-filled,
And we drink life from Jesus’ empty tomb,
For on His Cross our sinful self is killed,
And from this fount we’re born from Church’s womb.

O’er all the world now blows His Spirit’s wind
From Father, sweeps away all Satan’s guile,
And all the earth through Him is born again–
Forever now is free from Satan’s wiles.

His Spirit’s fire away burns Satan’s lair,
Yet Eden by His flame is not consumed–
Becomes again His heaven’s garden fair
Where heaven’s life on earth is now resumed.

His water, wind, and fire bring life anew
Through Son who’s born of Woman dressed in blue.

BURN AWAY MY UNBELIEF

Come, Jesus, breathe your fire in me
To burn away my unbelief,
That faith within I clearly see
And know my unbelief’s a thief.

For Devil in me sows his seeds
To grow in me his lack of faith
And turn away from Him who bleeds–
Make me believe in Devil’s hate.

Yet fire within me brings His light
To see that hate is ill conceived—
Cannot stand up to our Lord’s might
And will no longer me deceive.

My unbelief in me is burned
And never will exist again;
No longer will I Jesus spurn
Whose Spirit’s fire burns up my sin.

BODY AND BLOOD

Your Body, Blood are offered for us Lord
That we may eat and drink your charity,
As with our body, blood, we You adore.

For You tie us to You with crimson cord—
We in your priesthood share humility—
Your Body, Blood, are offered for us Lord.

A victim we become as Your life poured—
In heart of each Your sacrifice can see—
As with our body, blood, we You adore.

Our sacrifice for You is spirits poor
That others see You with more clarity—
Your Body, Blood are offered for us Lord.

Through us Your Spirit for the world will soar
To fill the world with Holy Trinity,
As with our body, blood, we You adore.

Your hand in us takes up Your Spirit’s sword,
And we become who we are meant to be—
Your Body, Blood are offered for us Lord,
As with our body, blood, we You adore.

RED AND BLUE UNITE

In dark of night we see a star—
A Cross of Light in our dark sky—
And see three wise who’ve travelled far
To see the One in manger lies.

This starry Cross a prophecy
Of where this Baby will be raised
To draw to Him all who can see
By wisdom’s light and give Him praise.

Our Father’s wisdom in Him seen
To all creation now renew;
Begins with Mother who’s His Queen
As bright star-light bathes her in blue.

Her blue unites with His Blood red
In purple lighted by Star-Cross
To rise in Him they all thought dead
In dawn where star-light is not lost.

THREE WISE MEN

In manger they find One they seek:
Were led by Star to place He lay;
All earth is His who for us meek
Among us lies on earthly hay.

This day see heaven come to earth
To take earth back to heaven’s home
And give creation His new birth—
Three wise tell all to Him should come.

For wisdom has revealed Him now,
For she’s the wisest one of all;
Those three before His cradle bow
At altar made from cattle stall.

Together we to stable go
And plight our troth to Him there lies,
For secrets we all long to know
Reside in manger, make us wise.

THE LORD’S SOLDIERS

Let virtues be my watchmen at the gate
To dangers of my vices early spy,
That I may at the last escape the fate
Of those on earth who fall for Satan’s lie.
May I surrender to the Lord of Hosts,
Whose soldiers are those virtues in my heart,
And I will never of my own strength boast
For I know virtues are His to impart.
On world outside the gate my virtues gaze
And see beyond our sin, redemption there,
As Spirit blows away the Devil’s haze,
Reveals the earth is heaven’s portal here.
May virtues always here His soldier’s be
To take me with Him to eternity.
