THE MERCY OF THE TRINITY

We ask for mercy, Holy Trinity,
On us who have distorted human likeness here
Of You who give us life and light to see

Your truth that we’re to live in world sin-free
Where we the gift of your light yoke can bear.
We ask for mercy, Holy Trinity,

That every family once again will be
Your icon where we learn to have no fear
Of You who give us life and light to see

Your truth reflected in a Fam’ly Three
Where wise and shepherds can your angels hear.
We ask for mercy, Holy Trinity,

That fam’lies now can wait expectantly
In likeness cleansed that we forever wear:
Of You who give us life and light to see.

For into time You bring eternity
Where You in Holy Fam’ly Three appear.
We ask for mercy, Holy Trinity,
Of You who give us life and light to see.

KEY TO PARADISE

Where is the key to unlock gate
To paradise for which we’re made,
The key for which we all now wait
To enter where God once forbade?

And then we see upon a hill
A key-shaped Cross for us is raised
Where our sin is forever killed,
And we with angels will Him praise.

For there the final battle fought
With Satan, by His Cross impaled;
Defeated is the one who brought
His death to us when we God failed.

Now He who has become like us
Will bury in His tomb our sin
And rise with life so we can trust
Ourselves to Him, be born again.

He came to give us all the key
Will open gate to Tree of Life;
With open eyes we then can see
All truth and beauty by His light.

LADDER TO THE SKY

Through bitter valley I have been
To reach this ladder to the sky
Where angels can descend to men,
Proclaim the Son to us draws nigh.

For down that ladder He now comes
To Full of Grace who has said “Yes,”
And in her womb a man becomes:
A sovereign who is now our guest.

He comes to Adam’s sin forgive
In us who are his progeny,
As new life to each one He gives:
A life from Him makes us sin free.

And yoked to Him we ladder climb
Into the dawn from heaven shines,
As all on earth is made sublime—
Washed clean by Blood is His new wine.

New earth by heaven’s grace appears
As all creation by Him raised—
Breathes air that brings His heaven’s cheer:
To Trinity we all sing praise!

CHASING THE WIND

How often have I chased the wind
     Of my own vain desires?
How often does my soul pretend—
     And yet pretending tires.

Then comes the Holy Spirit’s breath;
     My falsehood blows away
And saves me from a living death
     Where Satan has held sway.

His Spirit’s sweetness saturates,
     And I’m created new.
No longer I prevaricate;
     My true self now I view.

And others now I see through Him–
     See glory in each one–
For He who is the great I Am
     Has Satan’s work undone.

HIS RAINBOW’S HOPE

A rainbow pierces our dark night–
Brings hope to hearts beneath the storm
With promise of unending light:
A foretaste of new life reborn.

Behind that rainbow is the hand
Of Him whose Son came down to save
All us who are of Adam’s band
And seek the One our sins forgave.

Away from self we long to turn
And gaze on Him who is the Way—
With Him to Father we’ll return
As Holy Spirit has His say.

INCENSE TAKES OUR PRAYERS

Our incense wafts above from thurible
To take our prayers to Son at Father’s hand,
For Satan’s stink on earth is terrible
As evil spirits move throughout our land.
Please hasten, Lord, to help in our distress,
Breathe Father’s Spirit in our troubled souls,
Forgive our sins and then through us address
Our earth that it with heaven made one whole.
Then our prayers will with angels’ praise unite,
Proclaim your Triune glory over all,
As your truth is for all of us your light,
And mercy triumphs over Adam’s fall.
Our prayers are seen to be of great avail—
No longer will we hear our Rachels wail.

HE BRINGS US JESUS’ LOVE

He rides upon the clouds above
     And dips to earth below;
From Father brings us Jesus’ love
     With new life we can know.

The Holy Spirit is His name—
     Will always bring us truth.
Our way and life with Jesus came–
In hearts the final proof.

For those who follow in His way
     No other can there be;
His life o’er death in us holds sway,
     As hearts His truth can see.

And one day we’ll be taken home;
     On Spirit’s wings we’ll fly
As Father through His Son says, “Come”–
     Through death we’ll no more die.

FROM CARMEL’S MOUNT

From Carmel’s Mount, Elijah calls,
And those with Mary’s heart will hear
God’s Word, with heaven’s mercy falls
In still, small voice—removes all fear.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel knows
The wisdom from above received
On wind through Son from Father blows,
And she is first in Son believes.

We can with her to Mount ascend
When we surrender all we are—
Receive with her what’s always been.
It’s near and never has been far.

NOT CAST AWAY

From our sin we awake and see the dew
From heaven’s fountain splashed upon the earth—
Bathes world in dawn, and not for just a few,
But on all who consent to His new birth.

All tongues are born again to praise His name,
Who in creation said that all is good–
Now comes among us he who sought our fame,
And with Him we will die upon His Rood.

Yet, from His side on Cross a fountain pours
To bathe the earth in His forgiving love
From heaven by His Spirit o’er earth soars
To join His earth with Father’s love above.

Awake at last are we, not cast away,
As Father, Son, and Spirit have their way.

BENEATH HIS STONE

Beneath His stone our sins are crushed
And blown away by Spirit’s wind;
His rolling stone grinds them to dust—
Become as what has never been.

On other side of grave we rise
As we new life with Him partake;
With joy we are by Him surprised
For He has opened Eden’s gate.

His Father beckons, and we come
To Eden New that’s from Old born,
And we ourselves at last become
A jew’l in crown His Son adorns.
