His Triumphant Sign

Three crosses on a hill are empty now,
Two thieves are dead and one who did no wrong,
And Devil thinks those three will to him bow,
For he believes his power is that strong.

But One who did no wrong is Father’s Son
Who had no sin and can’t be held by death
And rises from the dead—new life begun
For all who’re quickened by His Spirit’s breath.

For Adam New renews the human race,
And all creation joins in His new life
With love that’s given by His Triune grace—
Dispels earth’s darkness with His heaven’s light.

His crucifix is now triumphant sign;
He lives in what appears as bread and wine!

Paradise Becomes Itself

The stone that sealed His tomb is rolled away,
And He steps forth to open Eden’s gate
Unlocked by Cross of Him who is the way
To Paradise where Tree of Life awaits.

We stand at foot of Cross where Mary stood
Beneath new Tree of Life where Jesus died;
With Mary’s nature, gives His Body, Blood—
The fruit of life comes from the Crucified.

His Father has a Wedding Feast for Son
And Church, His Bride, in heaven and on earth–
A celebration feast has now begun–
Forever lasts to celebrate new birth.

When stone is rolled away, the dawn has come,
And Paradise has now itself become!

Our Lady Of Sorrows

Has ever there been sorrow such as yours–
A sinless sorrow weeps for promised land—
As all creation with your tears endures
Your suff’ring, as with Him you take your stand?

Your heart within His sinless heart there dies,
And you His Body hold in loving arms;
Then through the night your heart in His grave lies—
Awaits the dawn’s escape from Satan’s harm.

And when light comes, the stone is rolled away
As sorrow in your heart is raised in joy,
For your Son has our sin and death here slayed,
And we eternal life will now enjoy.

You, Lady, with your sorrow raised now bow
With us before your Son’s eternal now.

His Supper for Us All

They gather there, for all who later come,
At table where for us a Supper spread—
The first where bread His Body will become,
And wine will be His Blood that’s for us shed.

Creation is made new for all that night
As Body, Blood are fruit comes from His Cross
Where His humility shows forth His might,
And pride is slain as Devil’s cause is lost.

At Mass is Body, Blood of Crucified
Raised from His death in Resurrected Life,
And sin-infected old creation dies
As Risen Son on earth shines heaven’s light.

His Body, Blood come on Passover Eve
Where His life gives to us a full reprieve.

The Thorn Within

The thorn I have within
Reminds me of my sin,
A door that’s open wide
To let Your grace inside.

Within me, come, and make Your home
Where I will never be alone
And fight in me this cosmic war
Through Him was born beneath a star.

My mind and heart hear Father’s Word,
In my hand places Spirit’s Sword
To world and flesh and Devil smite,
As I join Him in Eden’s fight.

Perfect Image

O Mary, Image, beautiful, complete,
Of Trinity in heaven whose clear light
Reflects in you, who Holy Spirit greet,
Consent to bear God’s Son in earth’s dark night.
A perfect human self put back at last
In Naz’reth’s Garden through Gethsemane
By Son who took from you what He had cast
From future, to replace that Past Lost Tree.
Eternity’s New Tree grew once in time
In Galilee and bore its perfect fruit
In Bethlehem, beginning heaven’s rhyme
Of Jesse’s Son sprung from New Eden’s Root.
O Mother Mary, Trinity’s clear light
Reflects in you to shine in earth’s dark night.

Timelessness In Time

How can we know your Trinity
While timeless in eternity,
Your love within your own vast sea
That’s separate from humanity?

That separation caused by we;
Besmirched our image of you Three.
We ate forbidden fruit of Tree–
Corrupted our humanity.

From our foul sin we would be free:
We beg of you on bended knee,
Let us no longer Satan’s be;
Come rescue our humanity.

Son, Jesus, in God’s Trinity,
Without sin, yet becomes as we,
Unlocks sin’s prison, sets us free.
God’s glory in humanity.

Rescue All My Past

O Lord, come rescue all my past–
Its water changed to Cana’s wine—
That from its sin I’m free at last:
It won’t impinge on present time.

May I see now that wine was there
Beneath the murky surface sin,
And see my past through wine that’s clear,
Reveals to me what’s always been,

And may your wine wash through me now,
Recall the “I” that you intend,
As I to Son in Spirit bow
That through me You can others mend.

Mark of Cain

His brother’s blood cries from the earth
As Abel speaks to Cain,
And mark of Cain proclaims his worth
     Despite his sin and shame.

Then Jesus comes and His Blood drips
     From Cross to earth redeem,
And enters us through par’ched lips
     To thwart our evil schemes.

Our Babel’s efforts come to naught,
     And we face our own sin;
By Jesus’ Blood the truth we’re taught
     Brings life to earth again.

Our mark of Cain for us the sign
     That Jesus came for us;
Through water we are changed to wine
     As in death we Him trust.

With all our praise and thanks we greet
     God’s Son who comes to save,
And we meet Cain at mercy seat
    Beyond our human graves.

Heaven’s Road

In every heart is heaven’s road
     Where He walks with each one,
And with each one He bears the load
     To see our sin undone.

The road we’re on winds up a hill
     Where Cross with Him is raised,
And there our sin is with Him killed:
     His death in us each saves.

Our road with Him leads to a tomb
     Where our sin’s left behind
And with it all our earthly gloom;
     Then we’re fed bread and wine–

But they are not what they appear—
     Are Body and His Blood.
He enters us as He draws near;
     New life within us floods.
