Ever-fruitful Mary’s Womb

T’is ever-fruitful, Mary’s womb,
As in her Son she births the Church,
Where flowers cast by her will bloom,
As Spirit every heart will touch
With gifts and fruits unique to each,
Intended for the common good.
Through Church into the world they reach
With grace shows we are understood.

In grace’s order she is first;
Humility sets her apart,
To quench the everlasting thirst
Her Son shows us is in his heart,
For every one in time is born
And destined for eternity.
Redeemed by Him on Easter morn:
From sin and death, we’re all set free.

We enter in our Father’s house,
As children in the Son we come;
Through womb of Holy Spirit’s spouse
We’re welcomed to our heav’nly home—
Our destiny to live above
With Mother in the Trinity,
Caught up in everlasting love,
Become who we are meant to be.

Radiant Truth

The radiance of your truth appears
In semblance of the bread and wine
To shine away our darkened fears
Through feast of love on which we dine.

Our hearts and minds together bow
Before reality, perceived
By faith, that understanding sows
And blooms in love by grace received.

Your Trinity illumines all
As clarity grows day by day,
And beauty of your truth enthralls
Our souls bathed in your cleansing rays.

Old Eden’s veil begins to lift;
Her fog in minds now dissipates–
Blows into us your Spirit’s gifts
From Father, takes us past the gate.

We see on hill your Calvary’s Cross
And find we’ve eaten of its fruit;
Your Tree of Life we once had lost
Now found on branch from Jesse’s Root.

All truth before us here is spread
From Eden to Jerus’lem New
Revealed in rising from the dead.
Hosannas sing to Him who’s true!

Your Priceless Gift

Of us you came and died and rose
     To lift our eyes above,
Your truth and beauty to disclose
     On earth from heaven’s love.

We cannot fathom what it’s like
     To give so great a gift:
Surrender to the Cross’ height
     And with you all us lift.

You say I will not equal grasp
     My place at Father’s side;
I’ll enter world that will not last,
     With Adam’s kin abide.

Not able we to keep you here
     In world of sin and death;
Instead you take us where You were
     On Holy Spirit’s breath.

And now with gift received from You
     We in your world will live:
To all mankind, not just a few,
     Your priceless gift we’ll give.

Mary’s Faith

A silence over earth descends
With Mary’s faith that’s hopeful now
That her Son born will live again
And heaven, earth to Him will bow.

As we await, He harrows hell
For cry of ancient dead He hears;
Repentant souls He will all tell:
“I’ve come to cast away your fear.”

For Mary’s Son is Son of Eve;
His life now penetrates the past
And gives to longing hearts reprieve—
New life that will forever last.

His House With Many Rooms

How often do we try to build
A Babel Tower for ourselves
So we will never need to yield
To Him who made us for Himself?

Yet all our efforts come to naught,
And happiness eludes our grasp,
For we’re not happy ’till we’re caught
By Him who saves us from that asp,

For Tower built by human hands
Is in the Devil’s workshop planned,
And we have built upon the sand—
Against the storms will never stand.

When Tower falls, we turn to Him
Who built His Church upon a Rock,
And when we run to enter in,
We find the Church’s door unlocked.

We step within, and we are washed
In water cleansed from Jacob’s Well;
It comes within and hearts are crushed
To cleanse our hearts from Satan’s spell.

Then we’re swept clean by Cross’s broom
And clothed and fed with Body, Blood
Of Him whose house has many rooms–
Against the tides of time has stood.

As we go further in and up
With family and our friends around,
Forever we can drink His cup
Of joyfulness: at last we’re found.

Amidst the Storm

You come to us amidst the storm
     Of wind and water poured
From side from whence the Church is born–
     Your terrible swift sword.

A sword of truth through Your world cuts,
     Exposes all our sin;
Cocksureness can no longer strut
     When we are dead within.

Within we are by Spirit touched
     By truth from heaven comes
With You who love the world so much
     You come to take us home.

A home is earth when raised above
     To heaven’s footstool be.
Your Eden is renewed with love;
     Our eyes once blind now see–

Now see new life in storm you bring
     In blessed Trinity;
As Image Yours we’re meant to sing
     Of You eternally.

On to Glory

Lord, may your grace prevenient
Guide journey’s every step,
For it is my intent
That none of self be kept.

May Holy Spirit dwell in me–
From all my sin to set me free.

Repenting of my sin
Convicting grace reveals,
May I be born again:
By Holy Spirit sealed.

May Holy Spirit dwell in me–
From all my sin to set me free.

Then on to glory take
My new enraptured soul,
And me for heaven make:
Again be fully whole.

May Holy Spirit dwell in me–
From all my sin to set me free.

Our Yesterdays Redeemed

Our yesterdays are sealed behind a stone,
Are dead to life through Him in grave is laid–
Came to His people for their sin atone
And rescue them from death’s foreboding shade.
Then raised, our yesterdays are bathed in light
In radiance from the brightness of our Lord
Whose Resurrection ends our Eastern night
In Son who’s spoken–is our Father’s Word.
Our Eden’s East breathes in the Spirit’s dawn
Of day in heaven will eternal last
To exile end–now fruit for us is grown,
And death and sin forever for us past.
With Mary’s “Yes” are yesterdays redeemed,
And Eden’s East is not what it had seemed.

Hiding From God

Lord, You will never hide Your face,
And all we are and do You see,
For You created human race
To be what You want each to be;

But we have sinned and tried to hide
Behind a fig leaf from Your sight,
For we cannot Your gaze abide;
It fills us with a horrid fright;

Yet gentle You will come to us
As Babe with Mary You abide,
To say that You still will us trust
To see Your truth, come to your side;

And so we come to die with You
As bathed in water, blood You pour,
And covered with Your morning dew
On Spirit’s wings we with You soar;

And now we see Your face again
And revel in the light You give
To all who’re now made free from sin
And with Your Father, Mother live.

Not Cast Away

From our sin we awake and see the dew
From heaven’s fountain splashed upon the earth—
Bathes world in dawn, and not for just a few,
But on all who consent to His new birth.

All tongues are born again to praise His name,
Who in creation said that all is good–
Then He through Mary’s “yes” among us came,
And with Him we will die upon His Rood.

Yet, from His side on Cross a fountain pours
To bathe the earth in His forgiving love
From heaven by His Spirit o’er earth soars
To join His earth with Father’s love above.

Awake at last are we, not cast away,
As Father, Son, and Spirit have their way.
