Washed By His Blood

The morning dew now spreads His Blood
     O’er all the earth made new;
His crimson drops become a flood
     To all the world imbue–

Imbue with Him who’s raised from dead
     By Spirit, covers earth,
Brings Body, Blood with which we’re fed;
     From grave we know new birth–

We’re born from womb that’s Mary’s heart
     Whose “Yes” gave Him to us:
Gave all of Eden His new start
     When we in Him now trust–

A trust that gives us Mary’s “Yes,”
     And we her children are,
As with her Son we all are blessed;
     He comes here from afar–

And from afar He heaven brings
     Up close to cover all;
Now we can hear the angels sing
     Who also on Him call.

For dew that is His Blood unites
     All heaven, earth in Him
To wash away all Eden’s blight:
     Become what should have been.

Love Breaks Through

You use this world to beauty show
     To eyes that want to see
That glimpse of heaven we can know
     Some day for us will be.

For we live here in shadow land,
     Yet You let Son break through–
Reveals to us your saving hand
     To make creation new.

Its beauty takes our breath away
     As Holy Spirit’s wind
In hearts made new will have Your way
    And cleanse us of our sin.

Then morning light o’er world will break,
And everything is new:
Our hearts again will never ache
     As love in us breaks through.

Joy In Visitation

The joy that mothers to each other bring
Is like the joy that Jesus, raised from dead,
To Father gives as loud hosannas ring,
For heaven knows we are by Body fed–
First lives for us in Mary’s Virgin womb,
‘Twill die and rise and then descend again
To altar where new life for us will bloom–
Died first on Tree with our own mortal sin
To rise with us. He first in Mary lived,
Whose human nature is Immaculate
From Son, who to His Mother first will give
And then receive, as human race awaits
The joy that these two mothers both reveal:
A joy that John and Jesus also feel.

The Holy Spirit’s Wine

The water changed to wine o’er us is poured
To transform us from living death to life,
And in the Holy Spirit we now soar.

He enters us through Mary’s open door
To bring within our darkness His new light.
The water changed to wine o’re us is poured.

We welcome in us light with spirits poor
As dawn breaks through the sin that caused our night,
And in the Holy Spirit we now soar.

We enter world to live forever more
Where all our wrongs are by His love made right.
The water changed to wine o’er us is poured.

And Son, for us on Cross all our sins bore,
Shows forth in each of us His deathly might,
And in the Holy Spirit we now soar.

In thankfulness and praise Him we adore
As our souls bathe in heavenly delight.
The water changed to wine o’er us is poured,
And in the Holy Spirit we now soar.

Thanksgiving on Memorial Day

The battlefield is silent now
     And those who died lie still;
Today those left will to them bow:
     With thanks our hearts are filled.

And we remember families left
To grieve their dead on earth;
In this life they are here bereft
     Of those in heaven birthed.

We pledge that they’ve not died in vain
     To liberty secure,
And we will never here disdain
     What they make for us sure.

May God enfold them in His arms—
     Our dead and families all—
And keep from everlasting harm
     All those who on God call.

Mary, Mother of the Church

At Pentecost our Mother welcomes all
To open hearts to Spirit, in each blows,
And with her listen to St. Gabriel’s call:
Be born again by heaven’s breath below.

Together we are Church on Peter’s Rock,
And Hell will not prevail against her gates,
As Devil tries to with his venom block
The Son of God who saves us from sin’s fate.

Our death He overcomes with Body, Blood
Shed for us, then again for us to rise
To come in Mass, transform our earthly food
Into Himself–defeats the Devil’s lies.

With Mary, we to Spirit should say “Yes”
And build our lives on Rock on which Church rests.

Fire of Glory

His fire on heart within me fell,
     And I was not consumed;
But I came under Spirit’s spell,
     As Jesus me assumed.

He captured me for ransom not
     But loosed and set me free;
My sins He told me He forgot,
     And death will not hold me.

Into His world I am to go
     To work His will, not mine,
As Him to others I’m to show,
     And with Him we’re to dine.

He spreads a table set with Him;
     We eat and drink Himself,
And He fills our hearts to the brim
     To give us Eden’s health.

Then on to glory we’re to go,
     As saints we all are made;
To Father He our glory shows:
     This fire will never fade.

The Water of Holiness

God’s Spirit waters each of us
     To make each one unique;
He enters in our earthly dust
     And never skips a beat.

His purpose is to holy make
     Each one by Jesus’ hand;
He forms each in intended shape
     As Jesus by each stands.

No two alike He ever makes
     As in each heart He lives;
In every one true self He wakes
     Who in creation gives.

Though sin will mar each person here,
     It can’t defeat His plan;
His love in hearts casts out our fear
     Makes each His holy land.

To heaven raises every heart
     Who listens to His Word,
And to each one His truth imparts;
     He’ll always be our Lord.

Beside the Road

I cannot see, but I can hear
Who others say is passing by.
My begging banishes my fear;
I raise my voice in joyful cry.

My blindness let’s me see His truth
That others cannot understand,
And I surrender to His proof,
Feel in my heart His healing hand.

No longer can I sit by road
And let Him pass and disappear,
But follow I with lightened load
And speak of Him that all may hear.

Heaven’s River

His heaven’s river through His fount has flowed,
Caressed by water He has holy made,
And we forgiveness for our sin now know.

For in His water Satan is brought low
As sin induced in us by that Asp fades;
His heaven’s river through His fount has flowed.

Above His fount we see His Noah’s bow
As mercy pours into our heart’s sin-shade,
And we forgiveness for our sin now know.

His righteousness in human seeds He sows,
And Spirit’s holiness through us cascades;
His heaven’s river through His fount has flowed.

His living water washes earth below—
To Him brings lost who from His way have strayed—
And we forgiveness for our sin now know.

He leaves in water in His fount our woe;
With Him we rise to Father’s accolade.
His heaven’s river through His fount has flowed,
And we forgiveness for our sin now know.
