Adoring Christ

I look upon His broken Body there,
Who beckons me to come and be His guest,
To join Him on His Cross with Mother fair
And with her hands in swaddling grave clothes dressed.

The more I look the more within I’m drawn,
And all my sin is taken into death
For I know for this death with Him I’ve longed
With heart that yearns for birth by Spirit’s breath.

As I’m drawn in, out of myself I come,
And world around with new life radiates,
For Jesus in me new life does become
Unique as He my new heart satiates.

His monstrance with His Body is a door
As I in Mary’s arms her Son adore.

True Mercy

A bogus mercy Devil gives
     To let us have our way:
A counterfeit to “I forgive”
When sin in us holds sway.

We’re fooled by him that wrong is right
     And world cooperates,
As through our flesh spreads Devil’s blight
     With death as our sin’s fate.

But pride in our sin will be killed
     By Jesus on His Cross;
Humility from Him will fill
     Our hearts when our sin’s lost.

And Devil writhes in his defeat
     When Jesus rises up—
Says, “I forgive” from mercy seat;
     “On Me come now and sup.

At altar come to eat and drink
     Through font of my new life,
And on my truth you now can think
     When I end Devil’s strife.”

Burning Incense

Like burning incense Jesus comes
With Spirit’s fire to burn within
The useless chaff so we become
In Him who we have always been.

The Devil in us worked his way,
So we have fallen for his lies
And let him in us, had his say,
And with his coils he has us tied.

Then with His fire He burns those coils
So we are free of Devil’s grip,
As Devil’s plans in us He foils,
And we from Devil’s grasp have slipped.

Son picks us up on Spirit’s wings
To live with Him by Father’s side,
And here on earth we’re meant to sing
Of Trinity with us abides.

For in His love He dwells with us
On earth that’s heaven’s ante-room,
And He in us now places trust
To heaven shine through earthly gloom.

Then through the earth we all can see
His Eden New where He lives here
In hearts forever on their knees,
Where Spirit casts out all our fears.

HAND-IN-HAND

Come plant us, Lord, in Calvary’s soil
     Where your cross for us stands
And crucify that sinful coil
     Who plagues our hearts and land.

Cast him with all our sin in grave;
     Let him and our sin stay.
Raise us with You, our image saved
     From his deceitful ways.

Then let us hand-in-hand go on
     As we sing You our praise;
With Mary celebrate her Son
     Who gives us endless days.

Singing Praise

Come, wrap me up with love within
That I can know what should have been
     Had sin not intervened.
May I feel love I never knew,
Begin to live my life anew
     As in Your arms I lean.

With inside mantle change my face
That others in me see Your grace
     And sing with me Your song.
May all of us through endless days
Sing to Your Trinity our praise,
     For with You we belong.

To Paradise Restored

Adopted children, we adore
    Him to us here descends;
To paradise we are restored
     When with Him we ascend.

We eat His Body, Blood, and taste
     The fruit of Tree of Life–
Take Him in us who new creates
     Each one by heaven’s light–

Reflect His light throughout the earth,
     Creation made anew;
First fruits of heaven, earth gives birth:
     With His life all imbued.

Living Water

In barren desert waste, I thirst
For water from the Spring of life
Raised from His grave on day the first;
He bathed our darkness with His light.

My thirst within by Him is quenched
As I am cleansed from Adam’s sin,
And my heart is by Son’s light drenched—
Creates me new; I’m born again.

Through me His water now can flow
To flood the land with grace abounds
That all the world may in Him know
That Eden’s East is Holy Ground.

Set Free

The mask’s torn off and now I see
What Satan’s lies have made of me:
A sinful bedlam deep within
And knowledge who I should have been.

But is this revelation done
Because for me God’s Son has won
Redemption that will set me free
To be who I was meant to be?

Come quickly, Spirit, deep within,
And make me who I should have been:
A human person who’s alive
And free from sin–will never die!

My Baptismal Self

May my Baptismal self arise
From water of my birth anew
As self in Adam slowly dies.

To You with heartfelt plea I cry:
In me Your virtues please imbue;
May my Baptismal self arise.

In water you to me draw nigh
To rain in me Your heaven’s dew
As self in Adam slowly dies–

Begin to see with newborn eyes
The world that’s bathed in heaven’s hue;
May my Baptismal self arise—

Awash in glory from on high,
Discern we what You teach is true
As self in Adam slowly dies.

Now washed away is our disguise–
Our image of Him all can view.
May my Baptismal self arise
As self in Adam slowly dies.

At Home With the Saints

A pilgrimage to Trinity
     With saints both old and new,
A journey through eternity
     With hearts made ever true.

We never think what might have been
     But only what will be—
A future always free from sin,
     And no more death we’ll see.

Together on this journey home
     Adventure, friends we’ll find–
Discover we are not alone,
     Leave only cares behind.

When we’re with saints in heav’n we’ll know
     We’ve only just begun
A journey where we always grow
     In Trinity through Son.
