Perfected Past

With lightness of our hearts does time stand still
As through that dawn our past as one revealed—
A single thread by sin before concealed—
Now seen through eyes of our surrendered wills
To be held at each end by Weaver’s hand
Who in and out weaves it a part of whole,
With our consent to fingers future holds,
Unbinds the past, redeems all human strands:
To draw together all creation made,
Pulls back through Eden’s gate to Garden new
Where on a hill the Tree of Life once grew–
Now grows a Cross forever lights death’s shade
And colors threads with life from first to last:
Becomes the future that’s perfected past.

His Open Door

Your flesh, the veil for You to open door
To Paradise, is raised to heaven’s feast
Where Body, Blood is served to spirits poor
And warfare will forever in us cease.

For at Your Supper You a promise made
That when You pass You will return again
To bring Your light to us who live in shade,
Forgive us all who’ve lived in Adam’s sin.

We eat and drink Your Resurrected Life
And praise You for our Paradise restored,
As You from Your creation banish strife
With Satan–now is gone forever more.

Your Supper, last on earth, became the first
As You return at Mass to quench our thirst.

Dawn’s Early Light

Lord, give me patience as I wait
For You to make me who I am;
You are on time and never late
As You complete what You began.

I am becoming new in You—
The person You intend to be—
For Eden fresh as morning dew
As Garden New I can now see.

For I am made for Eden’s home,
A place I’ve never been before,
Yet Spirit and Your Bride say, “Come,
His Cross has opened wide the door.”

And there within is Tree of Life
With fruit that’s raised with You from grave,
A fruit that’s seen in early light
Of dawn in which You’re raised to save.

Triune Love

To see the whole, we through a family look
As child with mother, father, mirror Him
Who’s Three-in-One with Son; from Mother took
Our human nature in us had grown dim–

In her restored–Immaculate conceived
Is full of grace where Eden new abounds
In nature she from Him for us received
To give again to Him who gives her crown.

As Queen, bestows her favors on us all,
And she with Jesus, Joseph, family three
Join every family with those Three who call
To all who will through every family see

The Father, Son, and Spirit–live above
And raise us all to join their Triune love.

The Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord

WATER HOLY MADE

In water poured by John was our Lord wet;
All water holy made by Holy One.
So, in baptismal waters He is met
As Spirit poured brings God’s Begotten Son.

His holy water makes our sin there drown,
And death itself in water cannot live.
We rise, are clothed in Church’s holy gown
When His new life to all baptized He gives.

Through us, to world, His Spirit’s fruit will flow
To make creation righteous once again.
In our baptism, Holy Spirit blows
New breath of life that breathes away world’s sin.

Through holy water, see our earth’s re-birth–
To God, creation is of sacred worth.

Epiphany

Three Wise set out to follow Star
     And leave themselves behind;
They know that they will travel far
And will their true selves find.

At home their burdens they will leave
     So they will travel light;
On journey find a full reprieve:
     Made free of Adam’s blight.

They have been told enough to know
That they will find a King
Who comes from heaven down below:
     Salvation to us brings.

He also has His journey made
     To crib in Bethlehem;
Brings light to Eden’s eastern shade
And brings what should have been.

His Paradise He will restore
     To those who to Him come;
What Adam lost for us before
     Will new again become.

The Woman of All Prophecies

The Woman in all prophecies gives birth
To Him not from this earth
Who comes to crush the head
Of him caused us to be among the dead,
Who tricked First Eve and us to mortal sin,
Whose own defeat gives us our hope again.

Our Second Eve’s an advocate, becomes
For her cast from our home
     With husband, Adam, dies,
Participates with her in Satan’s lies
And wanders with us all in Eden’s East
From Tree of Life, denied intended feast.

Now second chance for all our human race
     From Mary, Full of Grace.
     In stable under Star
With Wise and Shepherds we come from afar
To Mother, Father, with God’s Son to see:
Through them we’re taken into Trinity.

Gentle Word

His still, small voice breaks silence of the night
In Bethlehem, while in His Mother’s arms,
And stars outside the stable give their light:
Show Joseph there, protects them from all harm.
His gentle sounds from crib belie His strength,
Rests in His Truth, for He’s the Way, the Life;
To save us He will go to any length,
Will cleanse our hearts, the origin of strife.
For in His peace we see the world anew—
An Eden glimpse of far side of the Fall—
Yet, not behind, but future through Him view
His promise: He will save us after all.
For in that still, small voice to us He gives
What we need most—His Word says, “I forgive!”

The Holy Name of Jesus

His Name we find demands our all,
     We can hold nothing back,
For He by our true name will call
     Each one, will nothing lack.

When we surrender to His Name
     He gives to each Himself,
And with our tongues we Him proclaim:
     Restored to heaven’s health.

For our New Adam He becomes,
The Name by which He’s known,
And others to Him through us come
     To gather ‘round His throne–

Where by His side we Mother see,
Who speaks to Him for us,
And we with His grace now can be
     Like her in perfect trust.
