Human Trinity

In mother’s womb in love a child’s conceived
Who joins in Triune Likeness to be loved
By mother, father in our world received
On Spirit’s breath below, breathed from above,
Will recreate for us His Bethlehem
Where welcome of the parents’ loving arms
Await their child as Mary ‘waited Him
Who came to save us from First Adam’s harm
From parents their child learns His loving touch
That sets us free from Adam’s, Eve’s wrong choice
To know the Triune God who loves us much
And hear Him say “I love” in human voice
Of mother, father–with their child are three,
A likeness of His blessed Trinity.

Gathering

The Resurrection of Your Body, Lord
Is Your beginning of Your gathering in
Of all creation that has gone before
Through Your forgiveness  of our mortal sin.

As each of us can have our slate wiped clean,
So our consent will open wide the door
Of Your fulfillment of Your heaven’s dream
To know through us creation is restored.

For all creation groans to be re-made
Through Adam’s image cleansed as open door
In Heart Immaculate of Virgin Maid–
Gives birth to Son creation will adore.

The mountains, streams, and valleys, all that is,
Will sing as new earth is for heaven raised
And all creation knows that we are His,
As all that is together joins in praise.

The Drink of Love

Our sin will every person scorch
     And shrivel up our fruit,
But dew from Spirit each will touch
     To water every shoot.

From Jesus each one drinks new life
     And image is re-born–
Becomes one with the world’s new light
     With sin forever shorn.

Inscribed in each see Jesus’ face—
     Yet each one of a kind—
To take that place in human race
     That Father has in mind:

To serve without a taint of sin
    As glory lives in all,
And all the world is born again
     On far side of the fall.

To heaven we will rise above
     With Him who is our Lord
And drink in everlasting love:
     We all will Him adore.

New Earth and Heaven

Those silver myths prepare the way
For truth that comes to us in gold
When Word of Father has His say:
His “I Am” prophets had foretold.

A New Creation He has made
That’s grown from fallen Eden’s seeds
As new dawn’s light comes in earth’s shade
To cleanse us with the Blood He bleeds.

Away He washes Eden’s sin
As Old Creation with Him dies
And rises to begin again
As world is saved from Satan’s lies.

As in New World we’re born anew,
In this world we begin to live
Our life will there be in full view–
New Persons to us Jesus gives.

So “Alleluia” we can sing
To celebrate new heaven, earth,
For new earth born makes heaven ring
With angels’ songs at earth’s new birth.

For heaven’s new when earth becomes
What she was always meant to be,
As sinless love from heaven comes
That captive earth may now be free.

The Span of His Hand

From east to west is one hand’s span
Of Him created earth and sky,
Yet led from Beersheba to Dan
A people to Him He called nigh.

Then One created light and dark
Shined through a star upon a crib–
Became for us our Noah’s Ark–
Held Him came from New Adam’s rib.

Draws world to Him, our Father’s Son,
Through people chosen long ago,
Prepared for Him who is the One
To save us from our human woe.

His hand’s span now to each will reach—
Salvation’s touch we all can know—
Through Catholic Church will His truth teach:
Creation knows His Noah’s Bow.

Exiles Set Free

Divinity His image makes
In union of one body, soul
And then, through Mary, image takes–
Unites with Him to make us whole.

For we have wandered far from home
In Eden’s East where exiles live
While longing for the place we’re from:
We yearn for Him to sin forgive.

Forbidden fruit did Adam taste
And severed bond ‘tween heaven, earth:
Decreed to us death as our fate;
Through us all earth now needs new birth.

When Spirit comes at Nazareth
To Virgin Mary, pure from Him,
She answers “Yes” to Spirit’s breath,
And He is born in Bethlehem.

Now soul and body one, are healed
And we taste fruit of New Life Tree;
We eat His Body, Blood revealed
In Eucharist, and we’re set free.

Not Mine, But Yours

Lord, when I say, “Not mine but Yours,”
     My will has been transformed,
And in Your strength I can endure
     In me what is a thorn.

Desires of mine seek here to thwart
     Your will that’s for my good;
You virtues, vices in me sort
     With hand holds holy Rood.

You teach me to with Mary say
     “I am the Lord’s handmaid.”
Then You with me will have Your way
     And vices in me fade.

I journey on and come to know
     Your love through family here,
And in their love You to me show
     Your future for us there.

For heaven is our destiny,
     Our home prepared by You;
With Mary there we bend our knee,
     Our virtues fully viewed.

 A New Dawn

The fruit above and roots beneath
     Of Satan here on earth
Destroyed by One brings olive wreath
     In our Messiah’s birth.

He comes in peace with Cross’s sword
     To vanquish Satan’s pride;
In Sacrament He speaks His Word
     With Blood from wounded side.

Crushed are the hearts of those who’re proud—
     The swift cannot escape—
Die all who have to Satan bowed,
     Are buried outside gate.

Yet when that gate then open swings,
     A new dawn will break through,
And those in Christ will rise to sing
     Creation born anew.

Inside the gate new roots and fruit
     Are found on Cross’s Tree;
We’re grafted into His new shoot–
     From death and sin set free.

Eternal Truth

The freedom of eternal truth
     Can everywhere be found,
For God’s own truth is warp and woof
     Of all creation’s ground.

It’s hidden everywhere in sight
     For those with eyes to see;
His loving beauty cloaks His might
     From sea to shining sea.

Our ears can hear His wind blow through
     As we His Spirit taste,
Who makes His whole world fresh and new;
     We’re touched by saving grace.

The smell of life now born anew
     Intoxicates with love;
All creatures with Himself imbued,
     Earth joined to Him above.

Your Good Fruit

O Lord, I am a salty waste
     Where nothing good can grow,
And I have not that heaven’s taste
     Comes from good seeds You sow.

I ask You, Lord, come wash away
     This waste that plagues me so,
And come in me to have Your way
     That Your fruit I may know.

Created new may my taste be
     For fruit from Your true vine;
May other people see in me
     The virtues from Your wine.

And then may I Your good fruit grow
     As Your branch I become;
For virtues You have in me sowed
     To glorify God’s Son.
