The Gift of Wisdom

Those counted wise in this age chase the win
And think that their own truth they now can make,
Yet dig themselves more deeply into sin–
Will never find the truth to their thirst slake.

But truth is there if they will humble be
And bow before the One who made them all–
Receive the wisdom they are meant to see
When they on Jesus, Son of God, will call.

So, wise men of this age, don’t be content
With fragments, half-truths, on your own you find,
But look where curtain over earth is rent
And Son of God descends and says, “You’re mine.”

Seek wisdom that’s truth’s vision of the whole
In Holy Family where God’s truth is told.
