Your Path Is Love

Your love, O Lord, is all I need
     To see me through this day
Or else I’ll be a shaken reed
     And won’t be on Your way.

Without You path is slippery slope,
     My feet no traction gain,
And fast recedes my only hope
     To flee from my sin’s pain.

But with Your love I rise above
     The mess that I have made,
And upward walk with Spirit’s Dove
To light beyond sin’s shade

Your love I see when I look up
To gaze on Trinity
And know both there and here I’ll sup
On feast that makes me free.

Your love comes now in Body, Blood,
     Unites Your heaven, earth,
For as a Man You with us stood
     To give to us new birth.

And each new person walks with You
     Who heaven, earth connect,
For in them both Your love we view–
     Await what happens next.
