Our Memories Healed

A new creation Mary has become
In Anna’s womb, to human memory heal
Of mother’s fall in sin–to death succumb
When gate of Paradise to us was sealed.

Our memory of that Garden rises new,
And long we for our life that now is past,
With wish we could first mother’s choice undo
And live again in life that everlasts.

But serpent cannot break the promise made
By Father to our fallen mother’s seed:
That head of one cast down will one day lay
Beneath the heel of Him who for us bleeds.

The blood He sheds is human through her gift
Of nature—hers united with God’s Son;
Forever in her, we with Son, God lifts
To heaven once again and past undone.

Our memories now redeemed by Him who heals—
Unlocks the gate to Paradise once sealed.
