Not Mine, But Yours

Lord, when I say, “Not mine but Yours,”
     My will has been transformed,
And in Your strength I can endure
     In me what is a thorn.

Desires of mine seek here to thwart
     Your will that’s for my good;
You virtues, vices in me sort
     With hand holds holy Rood.

You teach me to with Mary say
     “I am the Lord’s handmaid.”
Then You with me will have Your way
     And vices in me fade.

I journey on and come to know
     Your love through family here,
And in their love You to me show
     Your future for us there.

For heaven is our destiny,
     Our home prepared by You;
With Mary there we bend our knee,
     Our virtues fully viewed.
