A Hopeful Sign

A windmill is a hopeful sign
For us who wait for Spirit’s wind
To bring eternity in time
And raise us from the death of sin.

The windmill slowly starts to turn
As wind from east begins to blow–
Brings perfect love, within us burns:
Salvation in our hearts bestows.

Then round and round the windmill goes
Blown by the wind leads us to Him
Who lives in us, and our hearts know
With Him we’re born in Bethlehem.

And then with Him we’re raised to life
By Spirit, blows through Cross and grave
Where grave clothes rustle in the light:
Fulfills our hope in windmill’s wave.
