In desert lands a journey dry and hot
Is succored by a spring when all seems lost–
This Living Water where it should be not
And free from One’s already paid its cost.
This spring from Jordan flows from wounded side
Of Him was crucified to bring us life,
Who came to Eden’s East, with us abides
And shines through empty tomb to give us light.
So now in Eden’s East His new fruit grows
In fertile land from desert water makes,
And Son’s light shines to make the night-time glow
With stars their light from Bethlehem now take.
A banquet of His righteousness is laid
In us not overcast by our sin’s shade.
