RESURRECTION

Creation shudders at the sound
As gravestone by a Breeze is moved;
Within are empty grave clothes found
Unwound by His eternal love.

No one can keep His love in wraps
When love is strongest force on earth,
And He waked from His earthly nap
To lead creation to new birth.

Through doors are locked He enters in
To breathe His Holy Spirit’s breath;
Through Church forgives our every sin
And saves us from the law of death.

For when we die we’ll with Him rise
As heart of all creation new;
The old on Cross with Him has died
And new is fresh as morning dew.

Breaks dawn anew on Easter Morn,
Fulfills His Eden promise made,
And we no longer are forlorn—
His light has come to Eastern shade.

He re-appears in bread and wine
That have become His Body, Blood,
Grown from new earth and His new Vine
Winds from His Cross where Mary stood.

As Mother, she leads us to say
“In me may your Word now be done”
So Jesus in us has His way:
“Not mine but thine” says Only Son.

His Father’s Spirit leads us home
To place we’ve never been before,
Where Spirit and the Bride say “Come,”
And we the Son will all adore.
